I also purchased 2 Allstar classic rods and 2 reels today from Academy. The cool thing about this is that my first purchase of Allstar rods about 20 or 30 years ago werent called classic because they were current. Matter of fact, I still own some of the early versions. I believe they have a great product,there longivity in the industry,and there outstanding customer service makes me a many times over, repeat customer.

Sale will be good till 12/05/2009. Had my guys changing the prices today. We have plenty left at the lewisville store. Also just a heads up the All Star Platnum rods are marked down from $199.99 to $79.99.

the shimano cruxis reel is on sale for 40 bucks, i picked up one of those and a all star rod today in austin

Dang, went to the store here in Wichita, they only had the classics down to 49.99. Thought I was about to load up on them. Ended up getting an American Rodsmiths rod and they had the Daiwa StrikeForce for $25. Anyone had any experience with these.

Went and got me 2 new rods and 1 for dad for Christmas. May go back before sale ends and pick up a reel and another rod.

They didn't have any of the crankbait rods or I woulda scooped one up, I grabbed a carolina rig rod.

they werent marekd with the sale price in austin, but i asked, and they rang up as the sale price, 25 for classic all starr, 25 for H2O reel, and 40 for shimano cruxis

hey ,i had 6 of the reels every one of them fell apart,handles mainly allways have to tighten them..got in the way of my fishing.so i took all of them back and they credit me towards revos.good luck

I bought 2 reels and one rod today at the store by the parks mall in arlington. They still had alot of rods and reels left as of 10:30 this morning.

For $25 I would get one of those 7 foot PRM rods. I have 3 and just bought another one tonight. I have caught a few fish up to 5 pounds on Roberts using this rod and series 3, bandit 200 and 3/8 oz spinner baits. They had the Cruxis bait caster for $40 recently that would be a good match for that rod.

For working on Falcon probably not what you are looking for but it would work for Fork if you are going for under slot keeper.
Good rattle trap rod also.

BTW,
I did catch a 30 pound drum on a strike king series 3 with this rod.

NoconaBrian, just have them ring em up. I went to Arrowhead sunday and my wife got up and was at Academy when they opened and picked me up one. It rang up at sale price
