very good question, i have never even thought about something like that being legal or not.. i guess if you were blocking a navigational route it would be illegal...

Yes,that is a good question.Ive saw people do it on Lake Worth.Myself i wouldnt want to be in that situation,to many fast movers traveling 70+ mph going under the bridges.

Must be legal- I have been checked by game wardens while I was tied up under the FM 1097 bridge at Lake Conroe. They wanted to see my fish, life jacket, etc, but no mention of anything about being tied to the bridge support posts. There are many, many fishermen who tie up there, and I never heard of a problem. There used to be speed limit signs for boats passing under the bridge, but they were taken down. Too hard to enforce I guess.

I wondered what happened to the no wake signs under the 1097 bridge, I couldn't remember if they were painted or hung. I just thought they needed to be repainted. I still slow down, just seems like a good idea.

Don't see why it would be illegal. I see it on all the other lakes.

Why wouldn't it be legal? It's your lake. Your taxes paid for the construction and upkeep of the lake. Your road use taxes paid for the construction of the road, the bridge, and the support structures. Hell you taxes paid for the fish stocked in the lake.
The Game Wardens are supported by your taxes and fees. The water is public water. If you don't see any signs saying "Private bridge support, no trespassing, fishing, or tying to" I fail to see where anyone can tell you not to tie up to your bridge support.

But it might fetch you a ticket if you are blocking boat lanes. and tying up where boats are running 70 mph aint to conducive to good fishing or your safety.
lol

Just because taxes pay for it does not mean it is a free for all.

Thats what i was thinking also. I also pay taxes for the roads i drive on everyday but that doesnt mean i dont have to obey the speed limit or that i can do donuts in my truck in the middle of a busy intersection legally. Would be fun though. banana

Crappie anglers do it all the time in every lake I have fished. I prefer to move with my TM around the columns, don't wait for the fish to come to me, move around to them. grin hooked
