I'm planning my first trip to Ray Bob next week and have a couple of questions.
First, where are the bait shops located? Looking for some around I35/ Sanger area with minnows.
Second, crappie fishing, what area of the lake has standing timber? I'm guessing NE or NW corners. Or is there a better location for some slabs?
Thanks for any info.

Are far as Baitshops, 455 and I35 in Sanger will be the Snapshop gas station. There are several coves with standing timber on the Sanger side and around Pecan Creek. But lots more timber on the Pilot Point side around Wolfe Island. Someone might better point you to specific areas...

The Dam shop east of the Sanger Marina opens at 5:00 am. Buck Creek bait shop opens at 5:30 am if memory serves me.

I like Buck Creek store but the dam store has good bait. Really no need for minnows this time of year. White/Chart jigs are the ticket.
I just talked to Paul and he took two guys from Bass Champs out this evening and had 48 keepers. They were fishing standing timber on the NE side of the lake.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably head up there the middle of next week after the holiday weekend crowds get off the lake although it might not be too bad fishing in the sticks. Jerry, tell them guys at the "other" site to plug that server back in

I fish RayBob regularly and my favorite bait shop in Sanger is the Sportsman one block east of I-35. They have a great breakfast grill too.

Any bait shop along I-35 on my way to Ray Roberts from 121?
I have used the bait shop at 455, just before you get to the dam, but lately I have been short changed on my minnows.
Thank you.
