Well, I too am the farthest thing away from an electrician that you can get! I have what I hope is a simple issue but would like to tap the experts here at TFF before I go replacing this and that.

I have a stern light that will not stop burning. All other lights (bow, courtesy and dash) burn and react to the on/off toggle switch just fine but this aggravating stern light wont turn off.

Tried reversing the two wires on it but it still just burns and burns, have to take it off and on to use it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, gentlemen! Thanks!!

Why can't I fish for a dang' livin' ?!

What kind of boat? Asking because on the flats boat we put the stearn light on the engine cowling and wire directly into the motors 12v. supply. Then all you have to do is detach the light pole and your done. But if it is a bass boat. You must have another switch on the front of the boat that is "on" and is overriding the switch on the dash. Other than that, it must be wired directly to the battery or some other 12v/ supply that stays energized all the time......

It is a 01 Tracker 17' V-hull. I have replaced the carpet last year and so tore everything down during that process but I could have sworn the light has worked correctly since that projects completion.

So by chance are you implying that from the factory all the NAV lights except the stern light work off the toggle?
