The crappie bite was very slow again today at Ray Roberts. The water is falling fairly quick which has sure slowed up the bite. I look for it to get back to normal by the middle of next week. Monte and Mike had a morning trip with me today and I think were lucky to catch what we did. We ended up with 13 keepers out of around 22 crappie caught. The best thing about the trip is they did learn a lot about crappie fishing and how to set up on brush piles. Monte did have a great day catching a personal best largemouth (9 lb 12oz). Monte with his 9 lb 12 oz bass

that bass is a nice consolation good work
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Most folks spend a lifetime to do just that (I know I do). As pretty as it was today it was just perfect and a bonus to catch anything A Wall Hanger (yep that is a GOOOOOD Day),

I had a great time Cliff. Thanks for the fishing lessons and explaining the graph of the lake.It was a beautiful day with good people to enjoy it with. Would have never thought I'd ever land a bass like this on such light tackle ...go figure. Mike says to tell you " thanks " also. He does'nt get on here.
BTW ....me and the wife just had that crappie dinner we've been craving ...she thanks you too !

Cliff, you get my respect for being a truthful guide that will tell you when the bite is slow. I look forward to maybe booking a trip with you on texoma.

Looks like good ole CPI area. Great fish. We've been out the past serveral weeks and have had nothing but grief tring to get bit on BPs. The lake is really looking good though. The bridges and rip rap have got to get hot in a couple weeks too. Good luck to everyone!
