Anyone ever bent the shaft on a Minkota? I smoked a stump with my maxxum pro 101 and now the foot control is super stiff. Anyone know what the deal is on that?

dont think you can bend the shafts on minn kota, they are composite. should be a tension screw on the foot petdal maybe try loosening that some.

Sounds like the steering cable has jumped the drum on the top of the shaft in the head or a pulley in the pedal? When you whack a stump it stretches everything then it snaps back and that can cause the cable to jump the drum or pulley.
The pedal pulley is easy to check just flip it over check your cable runs.. you will have to remove the top cover screws to check the steering drum. If you can see the drum and the cable is laying over another strand of cable it has jumped the groove in the drum.

Check the upper tube. They are bad about bending and putting the shaft in a bind (spellcheck).
