I would like to know if anybody has used a fluke on a dropshot? If so, do you do work it different than if you were using a worm? And do you rig it on a dropshot hook and nose hook it?

I have caught some before using worms and lizards. I am not a tournament fisherman, just a casual guy trying to get better.

Thanks.

I nosehook them very "thinly" to help give it some action. Mostly using the smaller flukes.

Thanks. I usually have about 14 inches between the bait and weight. Should I go even longer?

That is something that I experiment with all the time.

I nose hook all of the lures i use on a drop shot! i drop shot a 4 inch hags tornado alot, the F4. I also use small flukes alot too, i generally like 12 to 20 inches between the weight and hook as well.

I fish them on a drop shot with the hook texas rigged too since I'm usually fishing it near grass and have had some success that way as well.

Flukes work great on Drop shot's at certain times of the year. (Sometimes they just want more finesse stuff.) My best bass (9 lb)came on a dropshot on a wat/red super fluke last Feb in 35' of water. I have also had good luck on the smaller flukes. Since I fish drop shots vertically I always nose hook flukes. Typically I have about 18" between the hook and the weight but that can change depending on the bottom structure. If you decide to cast and drag your dropshot then you really need to t-rig and go with a hook big enough to get through the plastic.

getch your flippin stick and some 25# rope. a 6/0 hook and the 7 inch magnum flukes and a 3/8 oz drop shot weight. tie it with about a foot and a half leader. point your truck/rig eastward. find you a lake with grass, stumps, and big fish (fork, pines, rayburn, sandlin ect...). and throw this on the egde of the grass lines. when you see your line moving off count to 3 and cross their eyes.
