FYI
Just got back from Academy in Lewisville. Shimano Cruxis reels on clearanc e for $39.99, regular $99.99.
Also hade a few others on clearance.

They had one of the Revo's on clearance. They also had a couple of other brands but i went with two of the Shimano's because of price.

How good are the cruxis? I have a curado and love it, I saw the Academy in Lubbock had some for sale as well but wanted to get opinions before buying a couple of cruxis since I've never fished them.

How good are the cruxis? I have a curado and love it, I saw the Academy in Lubbock had some for sale as well but wanted to get opinions before buying a couple of cruxis since I've never fished them. Almost Identical to a Citica D.... Awesome little reel for that price. I bought several last year at that same price.

Thanks Crazyfish! I bought the Cruxis at about 6:00 at the Lewisville store - the clerk said it was the last one. I bought the same reel last year for $49 and it immediately became my favorite reel. Can't beat Shimano - baitcast or spinning.

Also....you can have a guy here on the forum by the name of Lure Buddy do a bearing upgrade and you can go from having ABEC 3 bearings to ABEC 7 and they are smooth as silk!!

Not clearance just on sale, clearance will end with $0.88, so they are just a great deal.
