how has the fishing been on lake somerville and are crappie being caught on lake and or crappie houses

been hereing same thing just not sure if i should take boat or try from fishhouse or maybe both

Welcome to the TFF Family of Anglers.

If you do not take a boat you might try fishing the pier at Birch Creek State Park, usually pretty good fishing when the lake is up and cool weather. Big Creek Marina if the weather is bad would be a good choice too.

fished saturday decided to take boat had 11 keepers for the day caught lots of small ones fished lots of brush piles from rocky creek to big creek did not try birch creek pier may do that this weekend

Glad to hear someone found them. I fished 9-4 on Sat. Caught a lot of fish, but only managed 4 keepers for the day. Jigs only.

If you are going to fish birch creek pier you'll be standing in 1.5 to 2 foot of water.

happy to know birch pier is under water new lake was up but did not realize it was up that much
