I live in San Marcos and fish the Blanco River about everyday but have little to no luck. Anyone have any personal experience or luck with this river?

I used to live off of Aquarina Springs and fished Blanco quite alot. I never did spectacular there but you could catch some fish. I always parked down under the 35 bridge and just waded east. There isn't a whole lot of fishable water that way, but it will kill a few hours. I caught alot of fish with a 6' pistol grip baitcaster and 8 lb line. Small flukes, small texas rigged worms, and small topwaters worked pretty good. The biggest I ever caught out of there was about 2-3 lbs. If I remember correctly, there is a deep pool east of the plant that held the most fish.

I had some buddies that found some better stretches but I never fished them or had access. You might see if you can search for better stretches through there.

Also try river road on the walmart side. park at the curve in the road, and walk down the lil path and then walk to the left and you will hit some deep water. I've caught bass, perch, and yellow cats back there.

Life is a beach, i'm just playing in the sand.
