wanting to link my 798ci to another humminbird on the bow. Need to know if there is a way for me to get another unit and use the same transducer as my console model or if I need to go ahead and mount the front transducer on the trolling motor and link the two units with the humminbird link box thing?

You can't share the same transducer at the same time with Humminbird at this time. You can put in a selector switch where only one unit uses the transducer at a time. You can link them with the Interlink that will allow you to share waypoints and gps information.
