Anybody fish Houston County? Haven't fished it in about 10 years, and then I mostly chased the bass. Have moved 5th wheel there from T-bend and the wife wants a better ratio of crappie vs. bass in the freezer. I know of some "areas" but would appreciate any help on specifics if anybody could provide. Thanks- TT

Our club, easttexascrappieclub.com, held the December tournament on Houston Co. and near the dam seemed to be the place to catch fish then.

Thanks fellers, -- I idled around the dam area and seen nothin but a slick bottom. Are y'all fishin sunken brush or suspended fish or what. From what little time I spent I seen no real major breaks in depth. It definitely got deeper in next to the rocks down toward the overflow. I have been taking my 15' aluminum boat the 3 times I've gone since moving the trailer and it had a low grade Humminbird graph. Got 2 Garmins on my Champion and Santa brought me one for the little boat. Can't wait to get back on the water and see how it works on the crappie. The few fish I caught came from the big cove just west of the campground. 16 - 18 feet slammed right on the bottom. That was in November.

Fish that mudflat in about 30 feet of water, 2 cranks off the bottom using minnows. They didn't seem to be holding on structure when I was there, maybe just a little depth change from 28-32 feet. Just sort of work back and forth randomly around there and you should pick up some fish.
