WOW You may be the smartest guy I know. I have been watching this waiting to see if it ever got back to that.lol
Thank you.

If it matters, I will now have a can in the boat for buts.
If you cant can them, you can smoke on the dock.

Another side note:
If you AND your Partner are fishing a tournament and you throw a butt overboard (or paper, or coke can, etc...) You have just littered. Can YOU pass a Polygraph for violating a Fish & Game law?

I just dont understand the logic here with some of these people. Here is my point guys. If i could drive my bass boat and keep from polluting the water, i would. If i could drive to work and not pollute the enviroment, i would. If i smoked and i could keep from polluting the environment by putting my cigarette butts in a can instead of throwing them in the water, i would. And you can, so why dont ya do it? Im not saying im a perfect individual that never pollutes the environment through normal everyday things but when i have a CHOICE of polluting or not polluting, i dont pollute. I throw my can or bottle or wrapper in the trash instead of on the ground. And most of all, I dont break the law.

I smoke, but I have quit smoking while fishing. I believe the smell on my hands transfers to the bait every time I handle it, and knowing that most fish don't smoke, I think it is probably a turn-off for them.

I know it is a turn-off for most non-smoking women I know, and they are at least as hard to catch as fish. Although the fish probably don't judge me beacause of my heft...sorry, drifted off-topic there for a second....

what about all the jugs that get left on the lake, little bit of nitpicking going on here

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Smokers crack me up... I used to smoke years ago and never realized how ridiculous some of their antics were. One example:

I see smokers with the windows down, hanging the cig out the window and the cig is only in the car when they are taking a drag. When they exhale they make sure to blow it all out of the window rather than around in the vehicle. Ironic... they don't mind smoke all over their teeth/gums, throat and lungs but they go to great lengths to avoid getting smoke on their clothes or vehicle interior. DOH! Materialism at its finest...

As for throwing the butts in the lake If one has no issues with dumping dozens of PVC/concrete contraptions in the water under the guise of structure then a cigarette butt is moot.

My opinion is worth what you paid for it...

Yep, shouldnt leave those out there either. The people nitpicking the topic are guilty. Thats why they feel as though they need to defend themselves.

Everyone of us pollute the water ways one way or another if you think about it. Some of us know we do it and others that dont realize they do. We can sit here and debate this all day long as for who doesnt do it but at some point we all put chemicals in yard, run 2 stroke motors, flip cigarette butts in lake, to having trucks that pull your boat to the lake that leak oil or other fluids that get washed down when it rains etc. Do you see where I'm going with this now. We all just need to take it upon ourselves to try a little harder sometimes to help out. No one needs to point fingers at someone else until they point it at themselves first IMO.

Ya know, I would rather a guy throw an occasional cigarette butt in the lake than see where he emptied his ash tray in the parking lot.

The topic of the post had to do with thoughts on throwing cigarette butts into the water. I dont do that or throw any other trash into the water so pointing a finger at myself would be of no use.

And i can see that this post will continue forever because there has to be those people out there that will argue a point by twisting and turning the arguement to make throwing butts in the water sound like not such a bad thing. Im not going to argue this point anymore if you have to get off the topic to make your argument.
