I love to use Denny Brauer's low cost amber colored sunglasses they are really amazing on travis and Belton/stillhouse lakes. A little hard to find at times. I try to keep me a few pairs in stock. Less than $10 bucks a pair at Academy........

Hook'em- Very good post, very interesting and that is probably the most informative article I've seen on sunglasses and it answer's several questions I've had. 3monkeys- I use Bolle' from Academy, they are somewhere around $50, and have interchangeable lenses, which I like to wear yellow or amber for fishing and shooting, but everyone kinda looks at you funny just walking around outside, so I switch to grey for casusal wearing. I think the pair I have is "Vigilante". They work good for me. Here is a link to Bolle' http://www.sunglassesgiant.com/bolle.html and http://bolle.ocutique.com/

I wear the Costa Fathom with amber lenses that are green mirrored. I wear them everyday, all day long. The main reason for the amber is eye fatigue. Wether driving or fishing, I find my eyes much less tired at the end of the day. I started wearing "good" glasses about 7 years ago and will never go back. I have worn Ray Bans, Ocean Waves and Costas. As long as the polarization is comparable, they are all excellent.

I love my Maui Jims Sports. They are composite plastic frames and you can bend then around like cooked pasta and ithey just spring back. Plus Maui Jim in known for their quality lenses! I used to use Ray Ban polarized but I like the MJ's better!
I feel more like I do now than I did when I first got here!

I've never worn polarized so I would not know what the fish(crappie/bream) would look like when sight fishing. ya'll swear by them. Fishing South Toledo Bend, the water is clear. Wondering how deep can you see with polars??

If you think there isn't any difference in good quality (translated expensive) glasses, go to BPS and tell the salesperson you want to take the test. They have a sign on the back of the shelf somewhere for you to look at. Try it with Maui Jim's and any other sunglasses you want. You'll be amazed at what you see with good glasses vs any others. The colors that show up with a good pair of polorized glasses is amazing. I wouldn't go out without my Maui Jim's on a cloudy or bright sunny day. Just my 2 cents worth. Okie Bob
