We caught a bunch Saturday (26th) while cranking for bass in 2'-5' in the bushes. It was cold and rainy but the fish were shallow. They were hitting chartreuse Lucky Craft C4's and Bomber Flat A's. All very nice big crappie - by accident!

My partner and I caught around 30 fish last saturday on white curly tails and black/chart. About half were keepers. We were fishing a creek bend that dropped from about 8ft to about 15ft. It was definitely cold and rainy!

Thanks Mike Marshall for the info. A general idea would be great, but I understand if you don't want to say what area. Thanks again.

I fished Sat. during the cold and wet. Found two nice crappie on the protected east side of Big Grape just beyond the first bend back towards the east. It was near dark, and I did not have long to explore the area fully, but the two I caught and the three or four that I missed were in 5 to 8 feet of water. (Wanted to try out the tactics I learned from my trip to Cedar Creek.)

Thanks Guys. Were ya'll using minnows or jigs?
Crappie Hooker I remeber you saying you were going to cedar creek. Who did ya'll fish with Ernest or Guy. Either way I bet ya'll picked up a bunh of new tips. Cain't wait to fish my favorite brush pile this summer. I am out of crappie in the freezer and all this talk about crappie is making me hungry for some.
