The Redbud trees are blooming in town here in Palestine. I seem to remember somebody last year saying that is the sign that the spawn is starting. A guide/researcher says you better be fishing March 14 and bring a big ice box. That will be a magic day. We will see.

I've cleaned 14 this week and 12 of the 14 were full of eggs.

Probably some fish already done. Caught some a few days ago in a foot of water.

crappie doing anygood on palestine my wife and i are going tomorrow.this weekend is our 1 year wedding aniversarie so we are going fishing.

I believe it's " the crappie are spawning when the dogwoods are blooming".

Crappie are not on the spawn in North Texas at this time. While they are moving up into shallower water, the eggs are still developing.
