I am looking for a place on the east side of the metromess that has the 570 hooks for pouring my own crappie jig heads. I checked the locals, G&S Tackle, Walmart(Seagoville,Mesquite), and Academy with no luck. The only place I can find them is BPS and Barlows online. Anyone know of a place I am missing.

Wish I could help you find some other than mail order. I get mine from Barlow's Tackle online. Please, if you find other place(s) let me know too. smile

Barlows has a retail store in Richardson, I know its a drive for you but it's kinda neat to go in there every now and then. Usually, some cussin' and discussin' going on in there. Go during the day on weekdays to avoid the traffic and they are open on Saturdays. Hey its closer than BPS to you. And I am not sure if BPS would have them in the shelf anyways, but I could be wrong. Real live old school tackle shops are getting far and few between. Maybe I'll open one up after I retire, LOL! Good Luck!

Anyfish is correct. BPS does not carry them that I know of. Barlows does. You can also buy them on line from Barlows at www.barlowstackle.com

That's gonna be your best bet unless someone has a small(er) tackle shop closer to your area that just might have some.

Good Luck

CB, WillieFindum here,
Anyfish is correct. Barlows is the place to get hooks, chenille, feathers, etc, etc on the east side of Dallas. Cabela's cataloge can also be a source of hooks.
Barlows is on the west service road of N.Central Expy (75 N) between Arapaho and Beltline. W on 175, N on I-635, N on 75, exit Arapaho, u turn onto S bound service road, first row of building on right.

Use as many fishing poles as possable, for you never know when school will be out.

Thanks for the replies, I guess Barlows gets the business.

Ya'll may think this funny, but I saw several packages of those in Big Lots last night.

"Whachu talkin' 'bout Willis?" laugh

Which Big Lots? The one I shop in occassionally has marginal tackle at best. But, they do have some good terminal tackle deals usually.

It was on the corner of Buckingham and Plano (I think that's the cross-road) in Richardson. They have a bunch of garbage for sure, but they also have a huge selection of spinnerbaits and about 50 packages of those jig-bent crappie hooks.

Want me to grab them for someone? I'd be happy to.
