Yep, me too. Now I flinch every time I see that pic.
Great story.
I fly fished for many years back in my younger years and was saved many times by my Geek Glasses.
Flies travel at great speed and have had my ear pierce more than once.
That was before it was fashionable to have multiple piercings and the tough biker guys only had one.

I feel your pain. I was the target of a 1/2 oz. rattle trap. My buddy was fishing with a 7' rod and hit me in the back of the head. It felt like someone had clobbered me with a ball batt also. Thank god I was leaning against the seat or I would have been in the water. We headed straight in to his house at Fork to see where we needed to go get the 4 hooks out. We called Emory fire and rescue, no answer. So we called 911, the # was busy. Finally had to go to Sulpher Springs to get the hooks taken out. We told them that who all we had called and they said everyone was off for Christmas. So don't fish East Texas on a holiday.

I feel honored you came out and commented on my torture. Yes, guess I am a "fishin' freak" for sure. Seems if I am not fishing then I am talking fishing. Just love to try and fool a fish into biting my hook. hooked But, sometimes the hook bites me. eeks

Oh my! That was a painful one for sure. Yes, be careful needing medical attention around a holiday for sure, sounds like it certainly takes longer. eeks
