My buddy and I are renting a boat on Thursday and would like to introduce our boys to Crappie fishing. I have several spots I have fished at Fork before, but I was wondering if anyone would offer advice about where to fish? Jigs or minnows....If jigging, what type?

Thanks
CT

If it were me I would use minnows. It would be easier than jigs for them and the boys would probably catch more on minnows.

I was out there a couple of weeks ago and they would not touch a jig only minnows. they would not even bite a minnow tiped jig. At that time they were under the bridges in about 4' of water. They may have moved out with the warm weather we've had the last few days. Also check out Kirby Hicks post over the last few weeks.
Hope this helps.

I would start under the 154 bridge. We caught 32 fish in 3 hours there on Friday.

The only bit minnows and were at 35 to 40 feet deep, two cranks from the bottom.

Good Luck
