I just got 3 bags of my first Sweet Beavers. I've tried them in my pool and I can't get any "action" out of them. I have it rigged with a small weighted swimbait hook. Do you separate the tail sections? It just seems to do nothing on the retrieve. No flutter or anything. Are you supposed to just hop them? Are they designed to just be trailers? Help!

just break the legs apart. I primarily use them on a texas rig or a c-rig. awesome bait

Don't use the swimbait hook, T-rig them instead. Fish them like a worm or a jig.
I don't split the tail most of the time.

I T rig em with a Gammy EWG 4/0, vary the weight to conditions and just flip it anywhere you would a jig or other creature baits

I have tx. rigged a few beaver type baits but the center section of the bait is very thin and seems to tear up easily with the point of the hook making it not so weedless. How do you keep that from happening?
I switched to the Lake Fork Tackle tube to pitch in places that I would a beaver type bait and that has worked better for me.

T-rig, C-rig, dropshot(smallie beaver), and jig trailer. 4.20 in sprayed grass is my go to bait. Love the beaver.

T-rig, drop shot or weightless is how I fish them. I know others that use them as jig trailers and caro rigs. I split the tails, others don't. To me splitting the tails gives them more action. Rig them on the flat side slows them down. Rigging them on the wide side speeds them up on the fall. I have caught fish doing both.

Some great advice. But do not forget to think outside of the box.

I may have to try the top one. Had not thought of rigging it that way.

I have always used them as a jig trailer, and with good success.
