To the deapths of the Permian Basin yet again. Weeks at a time, with no hope of flinging the fly. Depressing is sugar coating it, down right agonizing for sure.
Well, work is work, and money is money, but.....
jeez this sucks
Any thoughts? I could probably just go to a park and work on casting left handed, or blind folded, or whatever.
Sorry for the rant, I'll be back in Dallas in a couple weeks.

I don't know what your schedule is while you are down there but if the wind doesn't try to blow my boat all over the lake I may try to go to Alan Henry this weekend or next (or both). That should be about a two hour and fifteen minute drive for you, maybe slightly more. Of course, I can't promise much on the lake, it is suppose to be a great bass lake but I haven't had too much luck yet (although the wife showed me up one day).
I know the water temp has dropped quite a bit on the lake in the past six weeks or so.
It is a bit of a drive, especially since I don't know the lake that well, but if we did get to go it would put you on some water.
I have a jon boat with a 15 hp motor on it. For a few pictures of the lake follow my website link, and click on fishing. Then you can see pictures of the boat by clicking boat on the right.

Perhaps you could have some fun with one of those practice casting rods. Just fill up a ten gallon aquarium on the other side of the room.
