I don't know about Plano, but I know Lewisville is full of creeks with plenty off them. Is it legal to catch and keep 'em out of city creeks?

Not sure yet. Just know im targetting flatties I was pondering the same thing as well. I just don't have any bank fishing gear. I don't have any rod holders and the biggest rod I have is 7'. I was thinking about anchoring in the mouth of a creek, but I'm just not sure if I want to take the boat out in this weather.

All we do is bank fish. You dont NEED huge poles to bank fish. You just need some pole holders and the same stuff you would use on a boat. Well and bigger sinkers for further casting.

I use for bank fishing the zebco hawg seeker from walmart $39 n 3 oz weight. Nice b/c it has that strike alert you can adjust for sensitivity, I do alot of bank fishing at night.
I think a good place to catch alot of perch is the lewisville fishing barge, I have sat there with a tiny hook, tearing pieces of shrimp off and a 4' of line wrapped around my hand. Drop it in about 2 feet where you can still see it and you'll pull out perch almost on command, like 1 within a 1 or 2 min of putting the shrimp in the water.

Get a bucket of panfish worms at walmart, and then head to Big Lake park on Ranier in Plano. That park is a few blocks from my house. Go to the walk bridge with small hooks and half a worm, you'll catch perch. In about 30 minutes you can pull out 15 perch easily on a good day. Not sure about the ability to KEEP the perch, but Ive read that the community lakes rules are the same as normal waterways except for no minimum size on catfish.
