will he be there every weekend or just this one? I went to the lake a couple of weekends ago and did not get a bite. I talked to a few other fisherman and some told me that they even drove to colorado city and they were out of minnows too.

Without being able to ask him directly I would guess that if there is money to be made he will be there. He has been negotiating with the land owner to lease the place.

Even with the holiday, gonna be tough to sell a lot of bait this weekend according to the Weather Gods. Cold temps and north winds will probably keep the crowd small and the bite even smaller.

Just spoke with MM and he said he didn't do too bad. He said it is hard to order based on the weather man. The shiners come from Arkansas and getting an order coordinated involves a certain amount of risk especially when it involves spring weather. Quite a few people from the oil plex evidently came to JB in spite of the weather forecasts. However the fish did not cooperate. I think that he will try again starting Friday PM in spite of it being April Fools Day. By the way I took a limit on 4-1 last year with 6 fish over 2#.

The big Island is now a small island. I do n0ot know about the boat ramp since I fish off the bank. Did not catch anything that day wind was gusting about 40+.

Haven't been able to locate any fish yet, windy, cold, and so much new territory. Should be minnows available again this weekend. Still see lots of boats anchored around the "little" island.

MarkA,

You can use the real boat ramp now. We fished there a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have much luck. The water has probably warmed up a few degrees, so maybe the fishing is better now.
Good luck
