I'm tired of getting ringing wet while bassfishing. What is the best raingear out there?

I bought the bass pro bid and rain jacket, it is lighter weight than most so I can use it when it is not freezing out side, plus I can just layer up underneath in winter and still stay dry. I was worth the money to stay dry.

Well I can say DON'T get the RedHead Squaltex from BPS. Worked great yesterday until the rain really kicked into downpour mode. Legs stayed dry. chest and back? Hmmm not so much!

Being from up here in the Midwest, I really think I have it all when it comes to being waterproof. If BPS or Cabela's has it I've got it. I even have extra for a buddy in the boat. It all depends on how hot or cold you maybe. Some of the stuff maybe too hot or leave u too cold. I will tell u this " Gore-Tex " or " Dry -Plus " they breath. Maybe one whole suit that u can layer up in some Underarmour. Also, you want the overlaping on the zippers ( water will find away if not ) too. Plus, the velcro on the end of your sleeves- when amking those casts water runs down your hands and arms. Get the " Gore Tex " socks the long ones. You can wear them with old gym shoes or the boots that may leak. Just think if u are standing in the rain the water runs down - could be dry all over- but for your feet.

I highly recommend the BPS Pro Qualifier bibs and jacket. I have been on the lake during a seven inch rain and the only thing that got wet was a little from my wrists to the elbow from holding a rod & reel all day.

the 100 mph looks great but I am concerned it might be a bit to hot for Texas weather. I am however looking for something that would be equally durable. I am tired of purchasing a new set every couple of years and want to buy somehting this time that will last.

I have the Pro Qualifier bibs and jacket as well as the 100mph bibs and jacket.
I like the Qualifier better...I prefer to layer up. When the temp drops below 30 ... I go with the 100mph suit.
Both sets are awesome.
Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.

Check out Helly Hanson rain suits for wet protection. Company out of the northwest and they have rain all the time. Good for temps down to 35 degrees or so. They do cause you to sweat and you can put a decent small layer underneat. They have great zippers backed up by velcro. The hoods are really good also.
Any colder I don't go.

Do like the Pro Qualifiers, Don't like the Frog Toggs. Frog Toggs have only been good for me in really lite rain, other wise they leak right through.

I just got some cabelas dry plus guide wear cause that is what davey Hite and James niggemeyer told me was the best when I marshalled with them at Amistad. So far I love mine and I can tell you that the true test will come when you are running across the lake at 50-60+ mph in a down poor. That is where bibs will excel over pants cause the water blowing in and nailing you in the crotch won't be able to get in. Check online at cabelas I got mine on sale.
