Any update on the crappie on Joe Pool? Have they made it to the creeks in Britton yet or not? Where can I find them?

fished joe pool from the bank last friday. caught 10 crappie in lloyd park. only one was over 10 inches...14". all caught between the two floating docks in the recreational area, all caught in the same area, about 1 foot of water, look for isolated grass beds with hard bottom, i was using a black, blue, white hollow tube, 1/16oz painted jig head, tipped with crappie nibbles. the 14" crappie did not have any eggs (i'm assuming she was female because of the size)Also, i talked with a guy who was fishing on the crappie pier, he said he caught 10 as well....all undersized. he was using live minnows.

plan on going back tomorrow.

How was the water color after the winds from the cold front? So you were still catching shallow with the North Wind?

Thanks for the updates!

water was in good condition. i was fishing in about a foot of water....i was bank fishing and caught all 10 crappie less that 3 ft from shore. the area in lloyd park where i was fishing in a cove that is adjacent to the creek channel so wind was not a factor.

yeah, I tried Britton north and south two days ago and had the sadest luck I've ever had, are the crappies still looking to spawn on this lake , or did they all ready finish up??? I have finished up on Ray Bob and did fair considering that they didn't come in as shallow as they usually do, if anyone has any pointers on ol' Joe for this time of year please clue me in.... Thanks, Pomoxis
