This is from today's Houston Chronicle:

Upper and Lower Texas coasts

Winds are likely to be southerly 15 to 25 mph this morning. Winds are then expected to shift northerly at 20 to 30 mph this afternoon and increase overnight to northerly 25 to 35 mph with gusts near 40 mph likely at times through Friday morning. Winds decreasing Friday afternoon and evening to 20 to 30 mph. Seas should then subside to 6 to 9 feet by late Friday evening. Skies will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms through this afternoon with clearing skies overnight and sunny skies on Friday. Wednesday's beach water temperature at Galveston was 77 degrees.

Any one have an idea what this means for surf conditions tomorrow, say from High Island to SLP?

Before I go to galveston I check this website, is very informative and tells you the information you need regarding weather and how the bay water is going to be (CHOPPY, SLIGHTLY
CHOPPY or smoth).
. Check it out

That tells you how bay waters will be, which is helpful.
But does that correlate with surf conditions?

these are seas 20 to 60 nautical miles out per buoy marker, which means the waves will probably be around 2 to 3 foot. So, if you are fishing the bays, probably slightly choppy. If you are at the beach, choppy. SLP will probably be ok.

Yea, but it really shouldn't be too bad of a problem.
