Well, I am kinda curious now about these. Is this a bait that can be fished all season long? And what are the basic methods of fishing them?

Also, what are some good brands to get?

I am wanting to get a couple and start learning how to fish them, and just trying to get some starting info.

fish them vertically or casting, and if casting what kind of angle?

I watched those, thats what got me interested. They dont explain some of the little things i would want to know.

Is this a type presentation where you "have" to see fish on your graph to be successful...My graph (garmin 240) I dont like that much.

If you know there are fish there from somthing else then thats just as good as seeing them on your graph. Graph is just the easiest way to tell and it tells you how deep. The casting vs vertical depends... Really deep where you can fish them vertically without spooking the fish vertical works great. But most of the time casting and letting it fall till it just hits the bottom works best. I think its works as a reaction bait since it falls past so quick and flutters so bright. I've had the most luck when you can see the fish on the graph and they are sucked down real close to the top of the hump. It they are suspended they don't like to bite as much imo

do these get hung very easilly? I mean they have an open trebble hook and I know you dont fish them around thick timber, but around rocks and such it seems like they would have a tendency to get hung.

At $7-$9 a pop I wouldnt want to be hanging them left and right.

Bass Pro Shops sells an XPS spoon(their brand)in a 1/2oz size. I've caught a lot of bass on them. They are $2.50 a piece and aren't as painful to loose if you are learning. Spoons will surprise you in the areas you can get away fishing them in. They will catch fish in all 4 seasons. You just have to fish a little slower in the winter.

Spoon fishing for Big Bass on Lake Fork was just highlighted on In-Fisherman so that along with ESPN other exposure, I am sure there is a run on spoons now:)

I love me a flutter spoon...just rip it off the bottom....or swim it....the fish love em too!
