I fished the post frontal conditions last weekend. We picked up 12 fish in the grass with C-Rig's and Crankbaits. No size to the fish at all. Saw lots of folks fishing deep structure but I don't have any confidence out there.

Don;t know that a post front condition changes much on that lake. They will be tighter to cover.

If one of the guys you are going to fish with is Ryan, just watch him. He is a fish catching magnet. On the other hand, he won't leave any fish for the rest of you to catch.

If he is not going to be there, I would try one of the deep diving H2O baits that Academy sells in the tilapia color. Reel it down fast to get the depth (8-15 ft.) then reel it as slow as you can to keep the desired depth. This has worked well for us, particularly of points and droplines.

Good luck.

Hey Jeep
Yes Ryan will be out with me on Friday if its not to windy for him.I have fished Fayette with him for years and he is a good stick on that lake.We will hit it before the sun is up and try for a shallow top water bite and work our way out from there.

Try the discharge and underwater hydrilla/grass lines if they are not hitting the above water grass lines. I have had luck with blue colors before dawn and watermelon after sunrise.

That's an odd lake. With as warm as it stays you never know when the first wave of the spawn starts.

Give some flipping tight to hardwood too. Haven't been there in quite sometime, but the lake is pretty small so if something's not working move and try differiant things--don't stay with anything that's not working too long. You can fish the whole lake pretty well in a day.
