Ok...here's a little diff spin on the opinions of which one and why.....In the last few weeks, I have been shopping for a new Ranger. I have been to 4 diff dealers within 100 miles of home and have run accross somewhat of a negative opinion on Lowrance from each dealer. Every lot had several boats to select from but all are rigged with Birds....So I ask the question "why only birds?" I got the same basic response at every dealer...We have had to many problems with Lowrance....In each case I ask for specifics and got replies that range from graphic errors to can't keep water out of it,..you name it...etc. Now for myself, I have always been a lowrance user. My current Ranger I have upgraded a couple times of the years to new lowrance models and to date have never had a problem.....Has anybody else had this same response from the boat dealers that I have had???? Why???

NOw you must have went to Terry's Marine. lol. JOn and Terry don't know [censored] about units. My boat has H-bird 787. I HATE them. My boat has been to terry 5 times in a week tryin to fix it. I'm good friends with a Lowrance Rep and he told me wats wrong while H-Bird stood around with fingers up their ACC. I finally told Terry to put a new Transducer on it. He did and guess what the Lowrance rep was 100% right. Problem solved. NOw my front unit GPS cant be slower,and The crods on both units are off. Like way off. Just say lik unit 1 say 500 while unit 2 says Four. that bad. IDK but im getin me a new HDS 18 and 8. Just my expereance.
