Say you are fishing a tournament and you pull up to a marina that has a sign saying "No Fishing. City Ordinance #...." To my understanding (and I may be 100% wrong) it is still legal to fish there because they cannot outlaw fishing on public water. Here is the part where it gets tricky... Now say the TD does not say anything about that area being off limits. Would you guys fish there?

Its not illegal unless you get caught! But on a serious note, there are places that have no fishing signs, but if you come into them a certain way, there are no signs. I know some guys that won a lot of money with that loophole. Now it would suck to win, lets say $10,000 and then lose it because of a technicality. I would ask the TD way before the tourn so that maybe he will forget about it and not mention it to anyone else, then you have your own secret spot! Good luck!

You can fish the marina's at Ray Hubbard. Just laugh at the people and tell them to go ahead and call the game warden.

we got a-hole sailboat owners on Grapevine and Eagle Mtn from time to time that will holler/cuss at you and tell you to get out that its private property. We just laugh and keep fishing.
there's nothing they, or the owners of the marina can do, so long as you don't set foot on their docks/slips etc.

Being a TD I say Fish it. As long as you are sitting in the stalls or standing on private property. They do not own the water.

I dont know of any marina's that are off limits for fishing. If the sign was posted at the mouth of the marina, then no I would not fish it. If the sign was posted on the back of sombody's barge, then yes I would ignor the sign and fish..

I think three out of the many of the marinas at lake ray hubbard have signs at the mouth of the marina that have no fishing signs. I have been told by game wardens....."its ok to fish inside of the marina, just as long as you are not fishing on there docks......ie-getting off your boat and jumping onto the boat docks" just to add to that, i have never heard of anybody getting into trouble for fishing a marina, but thats just me

I had a high finish on Lake Ray Hubbard about 7 years ago. Their were several hundred teams from everywhere including Oklahoma. When I mentioned catching fish in the marina's it was protested because of the no fishing signs in clear view. I offered the boat back but the tournament director said those signs aren't valid under law which is what I thought when I preceeded to fish.
