it looks like a young red tail cat that out grew his aquarium.

TPW Biologist Bruce Hysmithe identified it as a Blue Catfish. High Fin Governmet Blue as he called it.

After quite a few phone calls and corporate run around, I finally talked to the aquarium manager for Cabelas in Ft. Worth. He told me the fish is not that rare and he has seen several. They have one they got 4 years ago. He told me the fish turned back to normal colors as it grew up and now you can't tell it from the other Blue Catfish. So I'm going to free Willy today after taking a few more pic's. Thanks for all the help Robin.

P.S. I hope the fish jumps over my boat as he leaves!

What a cool fish. Who cares if it's not that rare - it's definitely not something you're going to see every day.

Might not be rare to a biologist, but that's the first blue cat colored like a killer whale I've seen in my 50 years wandering this earth so it was rare to me. Thanks for giving me a look.
