Really? Have you seen what it takes to win a tournament at Conroe? Especially when the 16" limit is in effect (which for the pros, it's not - lol) its upwards of 25 plus pounds each time out.

Conroe produced a 15 pounder early this year.

The 16 in limit makes it tough. But boy it produces some nice bags. I talked to several of the pros sunday after they got off the water and others that did not make the cut and they have been told that the PAA is going to bring it back to conroe next year.

From the way that Toyota treated everyone and tried to put on the best show possible I am sure they will tweak it and make it even better next year. Its not the lake that caused what few issues there were just normal stuff you get when putting on sucha big event.
It makes me wise that Toyota would either bankroll the PAA into a premiere tour or buy BASS and right that ship a bit. You can tell the Toyota folks have a love and commitment to bass fishing by the way the treat the sport.

The guys I talked to really enjoyed the Tourn. and the lake. Their real complaint were the scales used. Since they did not weight to the exact weight of the fish. I thought overall it was a good show. Enjoyed the event. The anglers were great. I visited with several guys at dinner and at the show.

(I was hesitant posting anything since if it doesn't have anything to do with Fork they tend to move the post.)
I was there Friday with the Phoenix Boat guys doing some test drives on the water and helping with the new dealer on Livingston. We had a great time with all the different vendors. Haven't seen that many since the Classic. I think the Pasture black land was close to a disaster if it had rained another day. Like the other post I was also surprised that Conroe was selected but I guess the Chamber put up some good money.

The Chamber was not a factor in this case. Gulf States Toyota is one of only 2 Toyota distributers not owned by coroporate Toyota. They're a 5 Billion dollar company and distribute all Toyotas in a 5 state region, Texas, Louisiana, etc...

They are based in Houston. That's why it was at Conroe.

I went out with Aaron Martens on day one and Mike Wurm on Day 2. Both were class guys and fishing machines. It was a blast and a real learning curve. Those guys are machines when the whistle blows to start! And what a rough water ride I got to go on with Aaron......my arms are still sore!

I didn't hear any of the anglers complain about the Boga Grip. They pretty much thought it was the same for everyone. They did wish the margin was bigger between the weights as 1/4 pound was only 1 notch on the Boga. Mostly they said they just didn't execute or lost the key fish or two.

It was a great time had by all, maybe you fork guys should have gotten off your cans and come down! I had to go get my boat back from richland chambers sunday and still had an hour to kill before the sunday weigh in. This was the first big-show event that I ever attended, I was shocked at how approachable and friendly all the pros were. I look forward to going again next year, I also was dicouraged at the low weights knowing what lives in the lake; but I also had to laugh at the 8.96 that won the basschamps event up north. Just goes to show how these fronts can really mess up the bite I guess!!!!!

I now know, between a Nitro Z9 and a Basscat Puma, what rides smoother at 75 in two foot chop. That was pretty wild ride back on Saturday with the hot foot floored. Made me a little sore the next day.

Z9 is a better ride.

You can't get on what doesn't exist.
