Went yesterday fished the drilling rig at upper end of lake. 21 keepers all 3/4 to 1lb fish. Caught on orange/pink maribou jigs.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Didn't know they had "drilling rigs" on freshwater lakes, but I could be wrong since it's been years since i've fished that lake.

I "think" there is a drilling rig for an oil well (?) up in the Denton Creek area. You can see it from FM 1171 (lights at night) or US 377 (east side). It's way up there, though. Getting a boat up there would be iffy right now. (I noticed it during race weekend. I guess it's still there.)
I don't know if he was up that far or not but it might be what he is talking about.

yep, it's hard to get up there. I have an 8ft pond prowler, too shallow for big boat.

Did you put in at Marshall Creek? How far from Marshall Creek is it? We'll be out there later today. Probably go check out this rock crusher people keep talking about. I would love to find crappie, but we'll settle for anything we can find.
Kevin, I sent you an e-mail yesterday. Not sure if e-mails are going through to you or not.

Saltfork,
Probably a little late but, as far as I know, there are no crappie at the rock crusher. Lots of sand bass but I have never caught a crappie there. (I don't know that I have ever tried! Never thought about it.)
I got an email from a TFF'r about some GPS coordinates but I don't remember anything about 'SaltFork'. Anyway, if it was you I replied to it.
