I've never fished this type water in TX. Used to do it in Kansas years ago. Now I mainly work mid cities ponds for bass. Anybody care to give me tips on what to catch/baits/lures etc. Would be appreciated. I'm thinking seriously of running over there today. thnaks

Only way I know is to drive up there, unless a local can mention if those are gates showing up on google

Evidently someone decided to walk in from the I-35 side. he was sitting under the tree with the water thundering past him. GET THIS: He was fishing with line spooling off coke bottles, he threw a cast net in, got a few shad, and hurled the lines out into the turbulence! When I left at 4:30, he had 4 nice looking, rather fat sandies, one either hybrid or drum(he was on opposite side of river from me, and what looked like one NICE blue cat on the stringer!

I on the other hand, fishing the Irving side, throwing slabs and curly tail grubs, had ZILCHO! Did have one hammer my grub and try to spool me before he spit the hook! Have no idea what it was, but, doggone it, Sometimes in this spot, what you hook and lose is more fun to fight than the ones you land!

Water was still running pretty high this morning. Are the gates going into the dam area open 7/24? Although the gates were open, I noticed a "no entry" sign on the backside of the gate.

Bill, where in Kansas did you go fishing at. That is where I am from also. Been here for 3 years now.

Ok, I have fished Tuttle creek and just about all the other big lakes in kansas at one point in time anyway. My home town was Parsons, but ended up the past 30 some years in Wichita. I usually end up going back home to fish the Neosho river.

My great grandmother lived in Oswego so I'm familiar with the Neosho River. Also, the strip pits around there
