So I got a wild hair up my a** today and ripped all the carpet out of my boat today. I am going to coat it with some type of rhino lining type stuff. Any suggestions? I know they sell some at Academy; anyone used it? Thanks

get it sprayed by lineX have it in my pickup and the best for the money. if you tape it off and do some clean up on it shouldnt cost much. my experience with the "store bought" stuff is all bad, some of it very bad, doesnt seem to stick very well. get some goof off at lowes and clean the glue off, tape the area you want sprayed and get and estimate.

I have used this product several times with no issues, just never in a boat, but I don't see why it wouldn't do the job: http://www.jcwhitney.com/COMPLETE_READY-TO-USE_BRUSH-ON_BED_LINER_KIT?ID=12;0;0;0;100001;ProductName;0;0;0;N;2000789;0;0
Some folks mouths, flat out runs their minds.

I dont know if its because its not put down the same way or what, but i have had people tell me that when they did the back of their truck beds with the "can stuff" it didnt stick long and started chipping up when loading stuff in and out of the bed of their truck. Isnt Rhino and Line X sprayed in? Mine was already in when i bought the truck new. I think you can brush in the stuff in the can. Maybe it doesnt stick as well because of how its applied or because they etch the bed before spraying it down. Kinda like when you paint or stain concrete, if you dont use the etcher the primer and paint will peel right up. Maybe thats why?????

I know you usually have to sand the area you are spraying/rolling before you lay it down to rough it up a bit. I have seen some of the professional jobs peel up a bit and they didn't sand it enough, even though a few scratches can be seen. Overtons sells some stuff to put down but it's not cheap and it requires a primer coat but you get your choice in color.

Talk to the people who install bedliners for a living and ask how best to prepare the surface, and what to tape off.
