Got a red eye Shad that always wants to run to it's left no matter how I tune it. I can get it to where it's not that bad but it still does. What causes this? And is it ok to run a little sideways?

The only thing I have messed with is the pull spot...that the ring is connected to.
Can I possibly change the split rings, or change the hooks to correct the problem. These things are great baits, but expensive kinda, at least for me.
too expensive to pull one out of the box and it not work. Anyways, I was just wondering if I can do anything different possibly to get it to run straight. It runs to its left. To my right if I am casting it.
any help would be appreciated...thanks

Return it to Bass Pro. Tell 'em the problem and they will most likely replace it for you.

I have had the same issue with the trap style.... I really do like them but they don't run as true as the orriginal rattle trap..

yea, I like to fish it around rocks since I am on whitney 90% of the time.
I am going to flip the split ring, because its not oval, more of a traingle shaped and maybe I have it upside down.
Then I might try to change hooks?
I dont know, I love the bait but just want to get it to run straight.
thanks for the ideas and any others will be welcomed.

It is possible that your knot isn't positioned properly on the split ring and causing the notch in the split ring to hang up on the eye causing the pull point to be off center.

Never seen a triangle split ring. Try putting a round or oval one on there. Bet it cures the problem

its kinda oval, but one base is bigger than the other, which creates a round triangle shape.
maybe I got hung one time with this bait and bent it a bit.
