I had the pleasure of fishing with Steve Dempsey and his girlfriend Suzanne on Saturday. They just wanted to do some fishing so we went out that morning.

The day started slow as we tried the whites in the usual places and they just werent biting. We decided to get out of the monsterous winds and headed up a rather popular creek.

Steve started the crappie trip off right with a 17" largemouth. We boated several 10" crappie in one location. After that the wind died so we decided to go to one of my favorite spots where they loaded up on several more crappie including
this one.

All in all we had a great day and I enjoyed their company.

Hey Hal ever thought of hosting a Crappie Tourn. at Big Joe, just an idea if you think theres enough intrest in the area. Just a thought?

Is all ramps pay only? I've been there once in my boat and faired pretty decent during the winter months.(cost $10.00 to launch, not good to me)

Just an Idea.

Hey Howell,
Have you known Steve for a while or is he a client? I know him from work. Isn't he the nicest and most laid back guy?
Glad you guys had some success.

They had a tournament last year but it didnt have enough entries to support it. I have been talking to the manager of Lynn Creek Marina and we are discussing a "meet and greet" with the local guys and gals that like to fish Joe Pool.

If this turnout was good then she would be interested in sponsoring a crappie tournament in 2005 Im sure.

The media bass tournament was this weekend and there were 75 boats. I'll bet some of those guys wished they had that bass of Steves.

The fish are there!

Oh, Steve is a first time client. Yes he was very laid back. I got nervous when the whites werent biting and he kept assuring me it was fine, they just wanted to fish.

I was half way into the day before I found out he works for the COE that manages the water in Joe Pool.

Suzanne was one heck of a fisherperson too.

My girlfriend and I had a thoroughly enjoyable time fishing with Howell Saturday. Although it was windy, he put us on the fish and we managed to put some of them in the boat, as seen in the pics. All in all, a great day on the "Pool".
