I have never fished for crappie before, but thought I might give it a go and see what I come up with. I live in the DFW area and have tried fishing around White Rock Creek, but had no success. I wanted to post some basic questions to get me started in the right direction for catching fish. It seems to me that some of my questions are pretty basic, but I would appreciate some help. I have read many of the post and it seems that fishing creeks this time of year with jigs would be the thing to try. I am however unsure of a few things... What do you mean by jig? Is this just a hook with a head in combination with a little rubber dealy? Does it matter if you use the little tubes or fish shapes or worm shapes? How much does color matter? I see that many people fish these under a small bobber. Do you just let it sit there in the water or do you use some kinda retrieve pattern? Would minnows be a better way to go? I have other questions but that should get me started for now. Thanks
