It is time for me to change the batteries in my Triton. I have used Everstart in the past, however, they seem to only last a year or so. What type of experiences have you all had with what type of batteries? Please advise. Thanks!
If everyone focused on the important things in life, then there would be a shortage of fishing poles.

Delco Deep Cycle is the only way to go. They last me four to five years, and I am on the water at least two to three days a week. Good luck with whatever your choice may be.

Pineau, I didn't see you at Lake of the Pines (BWS) a few weeks ago?

I go with Duralast marine from Autozone. Solid warranty. I think they work equally well for tournament and fun fishing. How would they know?

My Optimas have worn out after 4 years. I won't be buying another set. I paid 3X the price of regular batteries and didn't get much more than 1X times the life. Other types/brands had lasted 2-3 years for me. I too am in the market for new batteries.

Here's a thought...the everstarts aint that bad, and i would suggest the everstart marine with the 2 year free replacement. Think about it if your out on a big tournament it is usually saturday or sunday. If your batteries do go out some of the ones listed would be hard to replace, but you can always find a walmart that is open usually within 30 miles of where you are. Just a thought.

Pineau, I didn't see you at Lake of the Pines (BWS) a few weeks ago? Nah, I'm selling the boat right now. She's in perfect condition and it just wasn't worth the risk of tearing it up for a BWS event. Just playing it safe until I get my new rig.

I think for the money the Everstart is a good battery. In my last two boats they lasted over 3 years without a problem. In the boat I have know they are on there 2nd year and going strong. I think one of the problems is people don't check the water in them and they run dry. I know a lot of people will use tap water in there batteries, with the minerals in the water it is not a good idea.
