Of all the things in the house that I love and hate, we have a jetted tub that drives me batty the worst. The switch to turn it on and off stopped working about a year after we moved in. That's fine, I just used the tripping circuit to turn it off at the breaker. That stopped working. Months ago I wanted to take the plug out of the bottom of the tub, and thought I could just spin it and it'd come out like the one in the shower / tub combinations. Little did I know.
What's the trick to getting the stupid plug out? I've sat there and spun that thing for an hour, using upward pressure the whole time. Its one of those metal things that's attached that you lift and turn to let the water out.

Are you wanting to remove it to clean it out?
If you lift up the top (as far as possible) there will be a phillips tipped set screw. Get a screw driver and loosen the set screw just enough to pull the top piece off, it should just slide off the shaft that is in the drain. The screw is on the underside of the drain top. Hope this helps.
If I ever get back to Oklahoma, I'm gonna nail my feet to the ground!
