i fished it a few times for cats ... lotsa good blues came from the dam area fishing from the bank ... i always was able to catch shad there with a throw net from the bank
one day by the dam my son snagged a big shad as he was reeling in & a pelican got it before he could get it in ... what a fight! ... that pelican was wore slap out when he got'im to the bank ... i kinda felt sorry for'im, he puked up about a gallon of shad
found out pelican ain't to bad though ... cooked slow over an open fire
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

I have also caught some good blues by the dam off the bank. Also there is some big crappie in that lake.

My darlin' bride and I fished Proctor for the first time yesterday, and its a pretty cool little lake. We marked alot of bait and what I believe were blues between the island and the dam riprap (may have been stripers we were marking). We made 2 drifts thru that area using cut buffalo for bait, and we had no luck there. We ended up chumming (soured milo) wind blown points and put a mess of channel cats in the box. The channels were mostly in the 15" - 17" range, with a couple going a little bigger. Nothing huge, but great for the skillet. My in-laws are building a house close to Copperas Creek, and I've requested that they get my room started as soon as possible. I don't know how much luck I'll have in that regard.

My brother lived close to it and fished it allot. He always had pretty good luck with cats and crappie. He caught a huge softshell turtle out there crappie fishing one night. Sucker was about 50lbs, it pulled him and his john boat around for about 20 minutes before he was able to see what it was. thought he had a huge yellow cat or something
