I am at a loss of words right now. I spent the better part of a windy/cold evening setting out jug lines. Believe it or not, this is my wife's favorite thing to do. I am not even that big a fan, but my wife has been getting on to me about not going. I am not a big catfisherman, but have heard enough to know that the worse the weather is, the better the catfish move around and feed.
Now, We go out and get a babysitter so we can go set the jugs out, get 11 of them set in the freezing weather. Spent $30 bucks on Goldfish. Come back this morning and some jack leg has stolen 3 of our jugs. I know that they had big fish on them, because it was in one of our consistent honey holes. We found only one of my jugs washed up on the shore. We couldn't find the other two??? Luckily we had one hidden enough from this guy, and managed to pull up a 23.4 LBER and 5.6 LBER. I can't believe someone actually can take a fish home, after knowing they just stole it. You sir, whoever you are ARE TERRIBLE!!!
I am asuming that whoever you are you probably aren't someone who is on the forum. Most everyone I have ever met or talked with on the forum wouldn't act like a fool. I am just irrate, that someone stole all of our hard work. Babysitter $50, Goldfish $30, Having your catfish stolen by a jerk UN-EFFING BELIEVEABLE!!! I hope whoever you are the catfish bit your finger off and got away. I'll be out there again to night to put them out again, and I hope you are there.

Was the 23 lber a flathead or blue cat?

It was a blue. I have caught several flatheads in the area that I never found a scale that was big enough to weigh. I have pictures, and I have no clue how to get pictures on the forum? I will try and figure it out.

Caught these on the same spring trip just a different location. Like I mentioned up top, my wife loves this stuff, we made a whole week out of jug linning. These are the best and biggest that I have caught this year in two trips. I will be going again very soon, and now that I know how to put some pics up, hopefully, I will have some more for you.

nice fish ... i hate when some idiot messes with my lines or any lines that don't belong to'um for that matter

there are some catters that come in here that will take up your lines if the lines are in their way

regards albertking

catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

I guess that is one way to look at it, but it still doesn't make it easier to swallow. I hope they got off before the turd could get them in the boat! Either way this is great Catfishin weather, wish I was out there right now.

Its happened to me and I have caught them and turned them in at Choke Canyon. The guys we caught were Bass fishermen just going full blast running over our jugs and sinking them. They also caught our jugs took our fish then cut our lead line so the jug drifts away and hangs up on the shore. Its a class "C" fine $20 to $200.00.
