Has anyone fished this lake recently. Have a club tourney next weekend and have never been there. Any advice would be appreciated.

not lately, but if you are launching at crockett fam resort start under the big halogen to the left of the ramp the channel is right near it .do not run on plane if it is your first time there. watter mellon wacky worms and split shot flukes are good baits.might start with a frog in the mourning.good luck.

remember its a slot lake. i won our club tournament there 2 years ago fishing a green pumpkin finesse worm weightless wacky around stumps and docks. I also had an over that came on a lucas lures swimbait, but this time of year any hollow body or LFT swimbait should be fine because they are chasing the shad. Very clear lake. To bad your not going in the spring. Great lake for sight fishing

Sounds good David. thanks for the info. As we dont put any holes in the boat it should be fun. I like finishing new lakes.

I haven't been there recently, but the one time I was there the water was very clear. There was alot of weeds/grass/moss growing in the lake. That might help you figure out your approach. There are alot of trees and stumps also. On a side note, I saw what looked to be a 3 lb + bass swimming lazily along the bank with what looked to be a 12 or so inch bass sticking out of it's mouth. He didn't look too good.

This lake will send you to the fiberglass shop in a hurry. Be carefull. Really clear water. I was out there a month ago and lake was pretty low.
