Im trying to find out what you consider clear water, stained water, and murkey water. I went fishing in Arizona last spring and the water was so clear you could clearly see the bottom at 30 ft. In texas I personally have never seen a lake that clear. So what do you call clear water, murkey water, stained water, and muddy water? What visabilty distance makes each one? Also at what point would you decide to change from a dark color to a light color lures?

generally speaking...

Muddy=less than 2 foot visiblity

Stained = between 2 and 6 foot vis.

Clear = more than 6 feet

These are the generally accepted guidelines. Google Sechhi Disk
