With all the rain we finaly received around San Antonio, how is it going to affect the catfish bite? I have not been able to get out in several weeks now and am hoping to get out Thursday if its not raining. Either Calaveras or even Placid.

Fresh water should help the bite and if the forecast are right there should be a front coming through Thursday night so you should do well. Look for places like creeks where the fresh water is running into the lake and fish a little shallower than you have been all summer. Good luck.

Any rain this time of year should drop water temps and make the fishing better. If you get enough to make the water run, that is where you need to be fishing.

I would think if you can get into some flowing water like the mouths of creeks that it should be pretty good. My best day of catfishing ever was after some good rains at the mouth of a creek.
