What's the best way to place your minnow on the hook?

Peace, Chuck.

I prefer the pointed end.... wink

Personally I have always hooked my minnows and shad through the eye sockets. It's easy, not harmful, does not restrict the bait's "breathing" or swimming, and the bridge of the "nose" keeps the bait from getting ripped off the hook which keeps you from having to fish on credit from time to time. laugh

Wait a minute, so through the eyes doesn't kill them?

What's up, Michael?!

If fishing still water I hook them right under the fin on thier back. If I am fishing moving water like in a river or stream I hook them in ht lips bottom to top.

I hook them both ways too (like blueflake)

I prefer to hook them in the back below their fin most of the time but will hook them thru the lips when fishing lots of cover so they come thru better.

If I am straight lining I normally hook them behind the fin. If I am casting and retrieving, bobber or not, I go through the lips, bottom to top.

I don't like the eye method because I normally poke their eyes out. Over the years I have convinced myself that fish are attracted to eyes on baits, live or artificial. I'll do anything I have to to keep the eyes intact.
