Did not think it would happen to me but it did. Went out yesterday between 4-7pm and get back to ramp to see some scum bag has broken out a window and got my digital camera and a power inverter. Called and was told I was the thrid one that evening to get broke into. Won't be back to that ramp again.

Someone needs to set up a bait truck with some goodies in it. Then we can put an end to this [censored].

I put in there a lot and so far have had no issues.

i think its kind of ironic that this hasnt happened in the past, but now since another marina is losing business because of high launch fees..... not an accusation, just a "thought" to ponder .....

terrible.. sorry to hear of your loss.

Is there anything we as anglers/boaters can do? (aside from taking everything out of our trucks..which I try to do)

I think the idea of a "bait truck" is certainly an idea, IF we can get law enforcement involved..

i tell you what guys, i can get with one of you, load up your truck with an empty wallet, laptop, and a camera that will be rolling inside the truck and park it at that ramp. all the while i will be sitting in one of the two port-a-potties with a damn shotgun peaking out of it with my respirator on waiting for one of these losers to show up. all i would have to hear is a shattered window, and then i pop out of the port-a-pottie with my 12 guage.......anyone down?

Sure you can get law enforcement involved. Use your bait truck, after you catch and beat the #$%@ out of the person that breaks in, call the police. I wouldn't expect any special patrols from the police.

The dadgum Dallas Police have a satellite office just right up the road..... There is another ramp there, although they charge I think $10.00 to launch..

nateking---with or without a respirator that would not be the place to hide. You would never get the stench off of you..lol

Is there not park benches right through the trees? Park the truck on that side of the parking where it is easier for you to see the vehicle but not so easy for other people to see you.

One must be sneaky, sneaky...... grin

I fished Saturday and a guy had his truck broken into. It was crazy I was bank fishing and doing pretty good along the bank. Well when i got back to my truck there was a older white mazda or honda civic maybe 95 model with dark tints parked on the ramp. I thought they were setting up for night fishing but as I started to leave they started acting strange. So got in the truck and headed out of there quick. When I got to the stop sign to get on the ramp to the interstate they back the car up to car as I was turning to get on the highway.I slowed down and one guy in dark shrit got out and started trying to break out the window while the other guy in white shrit was the looked out. I slamed on my horn hoping to scare them away. About that time I was on the push on interstate and trying to get back to ramp and calling the police at the same time. When I turned around at bass pro I thought I could catch them and I was more than prepare. As i got my you know ready speeding down the highway. But they were gone and had already broken into the window. 10 minutes later dallas cops show up and took a report and angler who was fishing was just about to come in. The cop told me that these guys are quick and have been hitting this ramp and robertson ramp. There was a boat loading as I was walking back to my truck. Two girls and one man if your on the forum please contact the police if you got any info to share. Remember guys were look for older honda Civic model or older Mazda model. A white car with dark tints. hope this can help catch these jerks
