I have been using various sizes of them and have caught a couple of fish. However, I've not caught as many as I think I should have considering the time I've spent on them. How do you guys work the Magic Shad when there's no grass. Fast? Slow? I really like the action on all sizes, but I don't get many bites. I generally use an irregular retrieve, swimming it a little and then maybe a jerk or two. I start after it has settled to the bottom. What am I doing wrong? hammer

Try a different lake or different time of the year. I caught a few good fish on them early in the year but not since then.

These can be fished a few different ways.

1. Weightless - I fish them like a senko or bass assassin.
2. With a 1/4 jig head - I fish them two ways - a. like a cranbait, swim bait - just throw it out and swim it slowly back in. b. like a wounded shad - pitch them up around docks and timber, let it fall all the way to the bottom and bounce it a couple of times, rip it up a few feet and them let it fall back.

Try it on a chattebait. Remove the skirt and slow roll it like a spinnerbait. It's a deadly combination!
