Has anyone run the lake from the west 515 bridge to the dam? If so, how is the boat lane? Are there any stumps in the lane itself?

I havnt experienced any problems in the Lanes itself. Just stay on course and you will be fine. The problems lie back in Birch Creek. I've hit several stumps in the past few weeks running the Boat Lanes. But I dont suspect you will be back in there anyway. Those papermouths are fixing to turn on out in front of Caney Creek here with all this cool weather. I'll be going down in a few weeks hopefully to load the Boat up...

I'm planning on taking my son crappie fishing over the Christmas school break to Lake Fork. I hear the fishing is real good this time of year. Can someone point us in the right direction for a sucessful trip? How deep, minnows or jigs and any other info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Dave

Just follow most of the boats to SRA point, just down from the Minnow bucket. Can't miss all the boats. Good luck

Okay I figured out where the Minnow Bucket is, it's down by the dam. Is SRA point one of the points on either side of Little Caney Creek?

If you park at the Minnow bucket, just follow the left bank all the way to the dam. SRA point is the last main lake point before the dam. Just look for the 20-30 boats on it fishing. Good luck!!

I ran it last weekend with no problems(from the 515 bridge to the dam). Take IMFISHIN'S advice and put in at the Minnow Bucket. It's a very short ride from there to where the fish are. Concentrate on water around 28 to 35 ft. Most of the Fish that I caught last weekend before the front were caught on the dropoffs around 28 ft.

GOOD LUCK!!!

The reason I ask is because I have a place at Suneagle Bay. Hopefully the ramp there is OK.

Where are the "flats" at? We are gonna go for a couple days the week after Christmas and give it a try. My son is out of school and would really like to get him on some fish. Thanks for any pointers you can give.

We went down on 12.11.05. Had no problem running from the minnow bucket to the dam. Fished in about 25' to 30' water with minnows. Had pretty good luck caught 35.

What about under some bridges at night? Anybody doing any good with this. We fished last spring under I believe little mustang bridge and really caught them good at night. I wonder if it would be good now. Depth was about 17 ft deep.

Drop it in front of them and they will eat it!!!

There is one on the south east side of the buoy out from Sun Eagle Bay. I would stay on the North side of the buoys from the 515 west bridge till I was well past Sun Eagle Bay. Me and Texkeeter150 hit it a couple weeks ago.

Was just on Fork for Thanksgiving. No problems running the lane on the entire east fork from the damn well past 515. It's been a month, but damn the crappie were biting then. Caught some really big ones fishing off the points. No luck under the bridge though.

Finally Caught One!
