Hope you don't mind. I downloaded your image and ran it through a digital noise filter software package I have. The pic is awesome by the way. I will take down the linked image if requested.

I used Neat Image 6.0 Pro+ edition. You can use it as a standalone app or as plugin for Photoshop CS.
